Liver Cancer Advocacy, Education, and Support Groups

The following organizations provide a variety of support programs and educational materials for people with liver cancer and their family members, caregivers, and friends. However, this is not an endorsement of these organizations and the information they provide. You should always discuss any questions or concerns you have with your health care provider.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a national organization working to eliminate cancer as a major health problem through research, education, advocacy, and service. ACS operates the National Cancer Information Center, a call center that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The center answers questions about cancer, links callers with resources in their communities, and provides information on local events.

The Lance Armstrong Foundation offers information and services to help survivors of all cancers “live life on their own terms.” The Lance Armstrong Foundation’s LIVESTRONG website offers stories of survivors; worksheets and a survivorship notebook to organize and guide the cancer experience; information on advocacy initiatives; and details on the SurvivorCare program, which offers counseling, referrals, assistance with financial and insurance concerns, and information on clinical trials.

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) is a federal agency and a component of the National Institutes of Health. NCI supports and conducts research, training, and education.
