What Are the Signs and Symptoms of Gastric Cancer?

 

Sometimes, people with gastric cancer do not have any symptoms. In other cases, their symptoms are similar to those of other medical conditions. Gastric cancer can cause any of the signs and symptoms listed below.

  • Blood in stool - Your stools may look black and tarry.
  • Discomfort or feeling full - You might feel as though your stomach is bloated after you eat, even if you don’t eat very much.
  • Heartburn - You might have indigestion or heartburn (a feeling of burning in your abdomen) after you eat.
  • Nausea and vomiting - You might feel slightly nauseous. You might also vomit after meals or even vomit blood.
  • Pain - You might have pain in the abdomen (area between the chest and the hips).
  • Trouble swallowing - You might have trouble swallowing and this problem could get worse over time.
  • Weakness - Weakness and fatigue can be signs of gastric cancer.
  • Weight loss - Unintended or unexplained weight loss and lack of appetite can be symptoms of gastric cancer.
