New to group - chemo choices

HI,

I'm new here, and went to my first oncologist appointment yesteray. I had an 2' adenocarcinoma on my ascending colon. Because I had ulcerative colitis for over twenty years and severe dysplasia throughout, the surgeon removed my entire colon and rectum, and constructed an ileal "j-pouch". I currently have a temporary ileostomy.

My question is, has anyone had experience with 5FU or Zeloda? My cancer is T3N0 - stage 3.

The oncologist recommended 5FU via IV, once a week, 6 weeks on/2 weeks off for a total of 30 weeks; or Xeloda taken orally twice daily, 2 weeks on, 1 week off for a total of 24 weeks.

I'm not sure which would be the best of the two. I'd appreciate anyone else's experiences.

Thanks~
