I hope this helps you find peace - any type of cancer is not easy to deal with. My mom who is 70 years old has had Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma 3 times the longest she was cancer free was about 15 plus years - Skin Cancer - every bit removed and still doing well. The last time she had Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma she is still cancer free 6 months later. She has been given bad news this weekend on a different type of cancer called Retroperitoneum. Which of course the computer geek I am jumps on the computer to find out everything I can and to find support groups. The best words I have give you is DON'T GIVE UP!!!! I wish you and your Aunt the best. My prayers are with you all. Carol

Hi, Angelica! I am almost a 1 year survivor! I was diagnosed with Stage
4 NSCLC on 5/19/05 - I have one tumor (2.6 cm) in my left lung, a met
on my left 6th rib, 4-5 mets on my spine and 1 met on the brain. I had
a stereotactic procedure on the brain met that shrunk the tumor from
the size of a pea to the size of a grain of rice! Recently, the brain
tumor showed signs of necrosis in the center. My lung tumor and other
mets have stabilized. I initially started on 150mg of Tarceva and
increased my dosage to 200mg on January 10, 2006 - just to see if I
could get any shrinkage of my lung tumor. I return for follow-up tests
in May of 2006 and will let everyone know my progress! I cannot say
enough about having a positive attitude and a good support network - it
makes all the difference. Everyone, keep up the fight! - Kim
