MDS

I feel quite fortunate.  I have been taking Dacogen at Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh since April, 2007,  In January, 2008 I will finish my eighth cycle and will then go from three weeks off to seven weeks off between treatments.  All my blood numbers are excellent and my blasts are below 1%.  Right now I am quite pleased although no one can give me a long term prognosis simply because the information is not available.  Anyone who wishes to communicate with me can do so at mconlon@zbzoom.net.

Re: MDS

Hi Mike,

I just finished my first cycle of dacogen in Uniontown. I'm still uncertain of all the side effects, but I feel alright so far. My doctor does a weekly blood count and makes sure my levels are normal. I was wondering, did the dacogen make your bones ache, or anything like that, because since I started taking the treatment my bones have been hurting.
