New Topic: The End of Chemo

Hello everyone...  I'm coming to the end of my chemotherapy at the end of this month...  I have NH-Lymphoma (follicular) Stage IV with the Lymphoma in my bone marrow...  I'd very much like to meet someone with similar symptoms or just someone with lymphoma and trying to live with it...  the lymphoma in my bone marrow has caused quite a bit of pain in my left hip and leg...  My oncologist says my last MRI show some of the pain is coming from permanent damage done by the lymphoma and some of it is arthritis...  he has me scheduled to see a spinal specialist to look at the arthritis in my spine...  it's a scarey thing for me...

Also, it's a scarey thing for me coming to the end of my chemo...  my whole life will now revolve around 6 month tests...  if the tests come back okay, I have 4 weeks of "maintenance" chemo to look forward to...  if the tests come back badly, and show the lymphoma is back again, I have the whole thing over again...  chemo vs. radiation...  what drugs??  what pain??  what side effects??  all that stuff...  ah, well...  hopefully, there is a friend out there...

Re: New Topic: The End of Chemo

Hi! I was diagnosed in 2003 with follicular lymphoma. I have been through chemo and

rituxan 2003, 2005 and 06 and in december 06 I tried a nucular drug called Bexxar.

It was wonderful with way less side affects.  In september my scans revealed it was

back so I had a bone marrow test done and it is 20% in my marrow.  I  have started

treatment with novantrone and fludara to help bring the bone marrow down to

5 or 10 %  so I can so another treatment of Bexxar.  You can only do this 2 times.

Re: New Topic: The End of Chemo

Hello, I also have stage IV follicular lymphoma with bone marrow involvement. I was diagnosed in April of 2007.   As of a month and a half ago I am in remission after cvp and Rituxan. This was a surprise for me as I had extensive pockets of affected lymph nodes throughout my stomach and other areas. I am a 39 year old Michigan woman , married with two older teenagers. I would very much like to communicate with anyone dealing with this type of cancer.

Re: New Topic: The End of Chemo

I know how you feel when I was first told I was in remission I was happy then it hit me how do you live with everyday thinking could this be the day it comes back. I'm still working hard on that emotion. I had NHL in my right groin and Gastric lymphoma that started out as H Pylori Bacteria. So I kinda know how you feel. If you ever need to talk I'll be here.
