My son was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in September of 2007. It has now spread to bones in his spine and hip. He has received some chemo but is now receiving just radiation. When I asked the radiation oncologist if we had hope since they increased the radiation, he said no. After this type of aggressive cancer is in the bones, it goes to the liver. We were told that he may not live past 6 months. He still has a very good appetite and seems okay except for increased fatigue. Has anyone ever received devastating news such as this and then found the physician to be incorrect?
