dry, chapped, dull skin after chemo

My sister has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Because of her chemotherapy treatments, she's been experiencing some skin side effects. Her skin is now very dry, chapped and dull. Is this a common experience? I want to help her find a solution to this problem. Is there anything you can suggest?

Re: dry, chapped, dull skin after chemo

There is a company out there that supplies ointments, lotions, serum, skin coolers....  They are for people who are going through chemo, radiation and targeted therapies.  The web site is Lindiskin.com  I just started using them and I already noticed a diffrerence in my skin.  It is becoming softer and not so dry and chapped.  They have a starter package you can purchase to try it out.  It is worth a shot.  I especially like the lip balm and the face serum.

Good suggestion, though I actually found something that's more suitable for my sister's needs. I was doing some research on the internet, and asked around as well, and came across dermagenics, a moisturizer that's perfect for cancer patients. It's recommended by Millie, a cancer patient who's been using it for a while. I think this is a better alternative because it's all natural and doesn't contain alpha hydroxys or glycolic acid. I read that these can actually make  your skin more prone to sun damage, which can in turn cause wrinkles and skin cancer. It's also for all skin types, women and men, and for day and night use. My sister's skin was amazing after she used it!

I want to recommend this to anybody who's experiencing the same symptoms from chemotherapy, especially now that they've come up with the Millie plan (http://www.millieplan.com). With the millie plan you get a  30 dollar discount, and they ship the product right to your doorstep every month. They also donate a dollar from each jar to cancer-related causes. This was perfect for my sister who didn't have the time or energy to keep on ordering every month, but still wanted to maintain the great skin that dermagenics gave her. I hope this helps other people who are suffering the same symptoms. Thank you very much.
