Surgery stories?

Hello, then! I'm Jacob, and I'd wager I'm your first transatlantic poster. I'm from Manchester, England, and I have stomach cancer. It's lucky for me, but mine got caught in a very early stage, so the docs say my chances are good. They've been talking about surgery, and I was just wondering if anyone here had any experiences to share regarding the operations.

Re: Surgery stories?

My mom had gasric cancer surgery 6 weeks ago and recovered beautifully.  80 percent of her stomach was removed.  She was recovering in the hospital for 5 days, the first 2 days were rough, but by the end of the second day, she was up on her feet and walking.  By day 5, she looked great.  No one knew she had justs had surgery.  She had lost about 8 pounds afterwards.  She has to eat smaller more frequent meals now, but hasnt had problems with digestion.  You just have to find out what foods you can tolerate and which ones you cant.  her surgery was at mayo clinic.
