Re: Welcome To Bladder Cancer Forum

Hello Everybody,

I have been diagnosed with bladder cancer and will take my first treatment (BCG - Bacillus Calmette-Guerin) on 16 Jan 08.  Has anyone out there had this procedure?  If so, what was your experience with it and what was your results?

Re: Welcome To Bladder Cancer Forum

Thanks for your information.  I will have my 6th of 6 BCG treatments on 20 Feb 08.

Hoping this will take care of the cancer cells; if not, will go through it again after the

next cystoscopy (6 weeks after last BCG treatment). Glad to hear your cancer has

gone.

Re: Welcome To Bladder Cancer Forum

My father has just been diagnosed with bladder cancer and he's been getting treatment with BCG. It's the 5th cycle. But the side effects of BCG is taking it's toll. The severe burning sensation and unable to hold urine, After consulting the doc he gave some medications bit to no avail it is not helping him. How many days such burning effects last and what is the solutions to neutralise the burning effects? Do u have such symptoms. And is there any medicine to control burning sensation.

He's been taking painkillers to subside the burning sensation is that ok.

Well in reply to you dad there. maybe drinking some cranberry juice the burning is probably from acid or medication. And he feels that in the uretha more than likely. make sure to let the Dr. know and ask him too. good luck Mike
