Two different women in two different states have died from high acid levels (lacticacidosis) as a result of taking XELODA. How do we know this? All lab results and autopsies show a cancer free patient after their death. Two does not seem like that many but when there are two deaths from a drug there most certainly could be more. Lacticacidosis is not a "side effect" that is listed as one of the side effects from taking Xeloda. Therefore we are trying to see if any other patients may have had lacticacidosis at the time of their death from taking XELODA. Because any side effect that is caused from a drug needs to be reported to the manufacturer (Roche) so they can be aware of this potentially dangerous side effect.
