You have the right attitude.  Taking it a day at a time and using what you have already learned from you other therapy will help you get through this, too.  Remember that you may some accumulated side effects like fatigue and that eating well, getting plenty of rest and some exercise will help maintain your well being as you go continue your therapy.  Bernie RN

Re: gratefull but waiting for the other shoe to drop

Odd I had been feeling that same "relieved but waiting for the other shoe to drop" when I went in for a biopsy to check that the tumor in my anus was eradicated after chemo/radiation. All the other tests had looked good, but the other shoe did drop when the biopsy came back. Now I'm starting another round of chemo. I was wondering about the build up of chemo drugs. I had the first two rounds in Jan/Feb  2007so I believe the drugs will still be in my system, does that mean the side effects are more intense.

The chemotherapy that you took in Jan/Feb should be out of your system by now.  Side effects are different with each drug.  If you were never off chemo you can have an acculmaution  of side effects because of the effects to your immune system.  For example fatigue.  Your bone marrow reserves may be less than before and it may take you longer to get over some of your side effects, or it may affect the future doses, toelrence for the new treatment but the drugs themselves are cleared from your system in a matter of days.  I hope this information helps.  Bernie RN

Well it is natural to worry there's nothing wrong with that. Don't think so negative tho look what you have already been thru and what that has done for you. Come on think positive . :) take one day at a time good luck to you and a little prayer wont hurt.:)
