I have just been diagnosed with bladder cancer. I do not know what to expect. My doctor told me I   willl need an operation to remove the tumor. Can you inform me of what to expect?

Can you tell me if there is a chat line I can join to discuss my disease?

This is the only one I have found after searching for several hours.  I was diagnosed on 9/20/07.  Suregery is scheduled for 10/30/07.  They will remove the complete bladder and also the prostate.  I have chosen to try to have a new bladder made from the small intestine.

If it works and there is 90% chance I can get it work, will not have to have a permanent catheter or bag. 

Will probably not be able to have an erection since the prostate goes with the bladder.  Pills will not help, but shots in the base of the penis are supposed to make it perk right up.  The pump is also suppose to work ok.

I am still in a little shock, I thought all along I had a kidney stone. 

Let me know how you are doing, I am not in pain, have not been since the first day when I had togo the ER due to the pain.  During the cystoscopy (when I thought they would remove the stone), the doc burned away the bit of cancer that was blocking the tube down from the kidney (causing the pain)

Hi Talldoll, Have you had your operation? I had an operation in June to have tumors removed from the bladder.
