I want to make friends on here with whom I can share my feelings, thoughts, fears, etc.  I have been diagnosed with Lung Cancer stage IIIB and want to talk about it with someone other than my family and doctors.  I believe the more friends and support we can muster in our times of crisis can help us get through it more easily.  Anyone wanting to chat and make friends with me...join in.  I am not wanting this to turn into a "woe is me" or pity club.  I just want to talk openly and honestly.  I have cancer...

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I don't have cencer, but my mother does and I have moved in with her to help take care of her. I'd love to chat with you.

Hi Timothy, My name is Celestine. I have cancer in the neck, so I know how you feel. I know I all so get tired of talking to my family and doctor about it, you want somebody who understand. The family really can't understand, because they don't have cancer. You need somebody that understand, and that is going threw it. So how long have to had cancer. If you want to talk to I am here. I had cancer cent December of last year. And I also have lungs, I had that for 12 years. So I really understand what you are going threw.

Timothy -  I was just diagnosed with Stage 1 - II adenocarcinoma left lung.  I begin radiation on 9/27 and then possibly chemo. I have two masses, one is about 1/2", the other about 1".  I am scared to death too and I know how hard it is to fully express your feelings to family, especially my children since I don't want to upset them more than they already are.  I have a positive attitude and plan on beating the beast.  Tell me about yourself and your treatments, etc.  Linda

 

Hello.  I was just diagnosed with Stage I to II adenocarcinoma - two lessions in left lung. I am scared to death about the future but have a positive attitude and plan to beat this beast.  I start radiation 9/27 and possibly chemo.  My case is a little more complicated since I have only a portion of that lung and also have an autoimmune disease (Sjogren's Syndrome).  Tell me about your Mother and Father and their treatments and prognosis.  Any special diets or supplements?  Thanks

Hi I saw your post and needed to write.  My mom was just diagnosed with Extensive SLSC 4 weeks ago.  To complicate matters she is also a diabetic so finding food she'll eat (when she feels like eating) has been a challenge.  What treatment are you undergoing, if I may ask??  What has helped you get through these last several months my mom is so tired, sick and depressed most of the time I am having trouble trying to keep her spirits up.  Any advice at all for me to help her would be appreciated.

My husband was diagnosed in March with small cell lung cancer which had already spread to liver and lymph nodes in chest.  He has finished chemo and was given a clinically meaninful remission (whatever that means).  He is now going through a low dose brain radiation and is experiencing severe pain around his waist and down his legs (which started before the radiation therapy started.  Pain meds aren't helping with pain.....Has your husband (or anyone reading this) experienced anything similar?  The only thing they have not done is a bone scan and I am terrified....

Hi my name is Kathy and my husban has stage IIIB lung cancer in left lung with plural infusion he has had two different chemos neither has worked he just started a third gemzar and taxotere last Tuesday we pray it works. I am also looking foe someone to talk to.

Hi.  I too was diagnosed with lung cancer is May 2006. They removed the tumor and the surgery was a success.  I received chemo for 6 months and my CT scans all were clean until April 2007.  It was then that I just didn't feel the same.  I was constantly sleeping and crying.  Doctors told me I need a physicatrist.  Things were not getting better.  My family drove to my rescue as I was living 400 miles away.  They finally did a CT Scan on my brain and found hundreds of tumors.  I was admitted to the hospital and immediately started radiation.  I moved to NJ and found one of the best doctors.  He also found tumors on the spine.  I received radiation for that too.

The Dr gave me 6 months to live. Well I am on month 7 and alive.  Thanking God everyday. 

 I am currently being treated by a chemo pill everyday.  Beats that IV process.
I cry everyday  but try to remain positive. 

I had to quit my job and retire early and I can not drive anymore.  The tumor on the spine gave me limited use of my legs so I go to Physical therapy. 
I finally realized this was the hand I was dealt and I am not folding.
