Hello...I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who's been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer (stage 4). My husband was - it has spread to his bones (left hip & right shoulder) and also in the lymph nodes. The doctors said he can never have surgery (because it has spread), but he has had 10 radiation treatments. He takes Casodex once/day and has and Ellogard shot every 6 months. If (and/or when) his PSA starts to go up again, the next step will be chemo...which we are not looking forward to! He also has bilateral stents inserted because the lymph nodes were pressing against his kidneys. These will be in for the rest of his life & need to be changed every 6 months. The original PSA count was 91 (!!), and has gone down to zero with the meds. Is there anyone who is dealing with this same type of prostate cancer? I would love to hear from you & what you have experienced with this disease. We have so many questions and so few answers; it would be nice to communicate with someone in the same boat. Thank you!
