    The cancer journey

Anyone dealing with cancer knows it is a journey that has many highs and lows, issues and challenges, questions and concerns. This is clearly reflected in the heartfelt messages that have been posted on this message board. I wrote my book, "The Journey Through Cancer: Healing and Transforming the Whole Person" and created The Seven Levels of HealingĀ® program to provide guidance and inspiration for patients and loved ones, wherever they may be in their journey. Please feel free to post your questions or concerns and I will address them specifically. With warm wishes for a happy Spring, Jeremy Geffen, MD

    Re: The cancer journey

I just ordered the DVD and book of the 7 levels of healing......My dad, age 89, was just diagnosed with metastatic adenocarcinoma of the lung...due to hige and other health issues, radiation is our only option for treatment....he starts his radiation next monday, 10 days on, 10 days off, 10 days on, then reassess tumor size and his response to the radiation....his largest tumor is 8cm and is located in his upper left lung.........We, when I say, I mean, my 3 living siblings and myself (we range in age from 59 to 41), have been through CABG, CEA x2, renal insufficiency and bilateral renal stents, sepsis, AAA....with him......he is very strong and stubborn, which I believe will be a good thing, now facing cancer......I look forward to receiving your literature and DVD and sharing them with my dad and siblings.....we know that he doesn't have a long time left with us, and our goal is to keep him pain free, or comfortable.....

Any further referrals for websites would be helpful......once I have the opportunity to view your resources, I'll have more to ask, but right now, we are still trying to accept and cope with this new diagnosis......the back pain that my dad complained of, we thought, was either muscular, or related to his AAA.....I was fearful that he was having an impending rupture of his AAA, so this cancer diagnosis came at us out of the blue.......

Thank you for the support of your literature and website, and I look forward to future involvement on this site....

     Sincerely, Julie
