    Mike,

Although I am retired now, I used to work in the oilfield and can imagine what you are going through. My radiation/chemo treatments wiped me out  Can you get a desk job with your  compsany, or a roofing company supplier? As a professional roofer, you certainly know the business and would be a tremendous asset with respect to bidding and scheduling jobs.

I don't know if that is realistic, but it can't hurt for you to look into it. You've got to fight.

    Best of luck,

    Peter

Have you tried filing for Social Security Disability?  I did upon the advice of my doctors...not sure when you were diagnosed or what kind of cancer you have, there's a 5 month waiting period before benifits start on the 6th month.  I was able to apply over the phone.  Just call your local SS office, tell them you want to apply and that you're unable to come in and would like a phone appointment, they'll set you up for the interview.  If you're able to fill out the necessary forms prior to your phone appt - the call won't be very long.  Withing 6 weeks I received my award letter.

The best of luck to you - I know there's nothing worse than being sick and having to worry about money at the same time.
