My father completed treatment this summer (surgery to remove tonsil, neck muscle, lymph nodes, and a nerve was cut).  Recovery is still ongoing.  I wish now we would have talked to others who have been through treatment to know what to expect.  He has pain in his throat and difficulty swallowing and eating.

i had tonsil cancer in my right tonsil in january of 2005, stage 3. had surgical removal,7 chemos, 37 radiation imrt. today i assume i am cancer free. problem with limited salivation complicates eating/swallowing. nevertheless, i still attempt to eat about anything. pasta is a safe bet, however. my taste is still compromised and i believe that to be due to the salivation problem also.
