I have been dx with anal cancer and am looking for someone to talk to. Is your wife's rectal or anal? and how is she doing?

My name is Sylvia, I was diagnosed with Anal cancer in November '06. When did you receive your diagnosis, have you had any treatments yet? I have already been thru chemo and radiation treatments. I would like someone to talk to also. 

 

Hey! I was DX on 8-7-07. I had surgery on 8-2-07 to remove a hemorrhoid, but it was actually a tumor. The Dr. took what he could see out. After going thru tests, we found out all of the tumor was not gone, it is growing upwards. The cancer has not spread into any lymph nodes or organs, it is just growing up instead of out. I am in my 3rd week of treatments. So did u do 5 1/2 weeks of Mitomycin and 5FU? I am told this is the only treatment for this type of cancer. Please tell me how you did and how u r doing now? I am so glad I found someone to discuss this with.
