    Metastatic Breast Cancer

Is anyone out there dealing with metastatic breast cancer?  I have been on various chemos for the last 3 years with mets to the bones, lymph nodes and liver, and the cancer seems to progress a little more with each Pet Scan.  I can find no support groups for metastatic breast cancer.  I so want to talk to others who are going through this.

    Thanks, Dian

Dian,  I know it must be scarry and frustrating for you.  I do not have metastatic BC but I do have BC.  I found the American Breast Cancer's web site fantastic.  I have provided a like.  All the girls on this site have various stages of Breast Cancer.  I'm sure you'll find the support you need there.  Hope it helps.

     Dian,

My mother was dx with breast cancer in April 2008, had a mas. and had rounds of chemo which ended in Oct 2008.  On June 29, 2009, we found out the breast cancer had mest. to her lungs, liver, chest area lymph nodes, and bones.  She is just starting chemo after receiving a chest tube to clear out the fluid.  How long ago was you diagnosed with the metastatic breast cancer?  Is the chemo slowing down your cancer?  Are you in alot of pain?  I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions.  I just real upset that it came back so fast and the doctor didn't even realize it.  She was having a tumor marker lab done monthly, and it never showed anything.  I can use any support.

What state are you located in?

    thanks,

    terri

My wife has mestastatic breast cancer in over half of her bones.  I also have found very little info on it anywhere. I recently found an 800 number which is staffed 24 hours a day by breast cancer survivors.  It is 800-221-2141.  You might find it helpful.  Let me know how you are doing

My mother was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer two years ago this month. it's in her liver. I've found a lot of help at bcmets.org. Beware this is a message board, so not all of the news is great, but I find the women there incredibly helpful and encouraging. Good luck to you.
