I'm sorry but I don't know what Triple Negative means. My husband was just diagnosed with stage 4 gastric cancer this past March 09 and I need to educate myself as much as I can.If you have a minute to explain I would greatly appreciate it.In regards to your cancer, my prayers are with you(I know that sometimes people say that out of lack of what to say at all, but I want you to know I truley mean what I say).

    Re: Triple-Negative

Dear Judy I am very sad to hear that Perry is not doing well with his chemo cycles. all cancer drugs react differently to each individual. Mum was on Xeloda and doxetaxel in her 2nd line treatment. She did not suffer nausea but all 20 of her digits turn black and she has lost her nails 4 - 6 times over. Mum lost 11kg when she first started this treatment cycle and we nearly lost her. We still don't have any good news. Her cancer is back and her oncologist wants her to try for the 3rd line treatment with Cetuximab and paclitaxel on a weekly basis but Mum has not given us the green light. Undergoing chemo is a living nightmare and i pray that great strength be yours in this time of great need. Stay strong. To answer your question re triple negative: it means Mum was tested negative in her estrogen, progestrone and Her-2. So a lot of the new drugs which are homonal do not work on her. Mum was always given some anti- nausea medications to take after her chemo - check if Perry is getting them. There are some things that can be done to help with the symptoms patients get undergoing chemo - you need to inform your oncologist re the symptoms and they will be able to help Perry. Mum got so sick of taking so many pre and post chemo medications that sometimes she will just refused to take any thing else. But be patient and persevere, take a break and come back. We are all in the same boat. Take care.
