This is probably silly, but here's the situation. My husband is just starting chemo for non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and the doctors said he will have 6-8 cycles of this. This will be followed by one month of radiatioin treatments. In the past, we have always had cats, and find having pets provides a sense of calm which seems particularly beneficial at this time. (My husband just also came through a quintuple bypass 3 months ago!). My mother and brother are both cancer survivors, and their medical teams told them that cats are very filthy and should be avoided because of the risk of infections. They refer to the known warning that pregnant women should avoid kitty litter boxes,, etc. Has anyone heard of this, and have any words of wisdom they can impart to me?
