    Re: Can you tell me

I was diagnosed in May with ovarian cancer and had surgery on May 23rd and started chemo on June 30, 2008. I have not returned to work yet because I am not strong enough and the side effects have not been regulated yet. I am hoping to go back soon at least part time.

This I can't tell you.  My name is gina and my daddy has just been diagnosed with  small cell lung cancer and I am looking for some answers about chemo and radiation-he is 73 yrs old and he just doesn't know what to do.  He has had a petscan and waiting for results next thursday and that will determine whether he just takes chemo or chem and radiation.  I do agree with everyone though that a positive attitude gets best results so please keep your head up and think only of the positive things.

    good Luck

Darling Gina. I received you message in my e-mail and I am sorry I cannot be much help to you. My husband is still in the hospital from his lung surgery which they found when thye did the surgery was Aspergillia a fungal virus. They removed his upper right lobe. He is being treated now and will be for the next month with a new drug that he is testing for the Drug Company.

How do you know that your Dad has Small cell? How was this determined ? Has he had surgery yet? Possibly a Bio

    Re: Can you tell me

hi my name is Lisa. i have stage 3c ovarian and endometrial cancer. both primary that have spread. i had a radical hysterectomy on jan. 2 2007. i had chemo every month in 2007 except for january and june, my last chemo was dec. 17,2007. i was wiped out from treatment and could not work at all during chemo. it has been 9 months since my last treatment and i am struggling to decide if i am ready to go back to work or not. i have neuopathy in my legs and feet from Taxol and i struggle with "chemo brain", although it seems to be lessoning, and also with fatigue. most days i feel pretty good, but then there are the days where i can't sleep enough, and i have no ambition to do anything. like many family's fighting illness, we are fighting the fiancial battle also, so i struggle with the guilt of feeling like i need to go back to work. i don't know what to do myself, but i say, don't push yourself. if you need time out of work...stay out. i am on social security disability, that might be an option for you. everyone is different,i know people who worked all through their treatments. Don't beat yourself up, if you are not able to do so! good luck to you. -Lisa
