There is no doubt that cancer can challenge the mind and heart as deeply as it challenges the body. At times, it can be very difficult indeed to maintain a positive attitude or outlook. But there are many things you can do to help yourself. Level 5, "The Nature of Mind," is designed to help you discover how to focus your attention in a positive way.

By examining your thoughts and beliefs, and the meanings you give to the events in your life, you can begin to select and choose those that serve and support you, and let go of those that don't. There are also many other practical things you can do that will help, such as walking or exercising, spending time in nature, eating good food, or talking with friends and family. Above all, be as compassionate and forgiving to yourself as possible. Seek help and support, or even medication, if needed.

November 20, 2009 — Researchers affiliated with the Health Professional Follow-Up Study and the Nurses’ Health Study have reported that folic acid supplementation in patients with recurrent colorectal adenoma was not protective or harmful in most patients. However, patients who were folate deficient had a significant 39% decrease in adenoma recurrence.
